I realized that I don't have any photos of my very first PC corner from the early '90s, so I decided to recreate it in 3D using Blender and Substance Painter.
The project started as a small nostalgic exercise, but it quickly turned into an interesting mix of research, modeling, lighting, and compositing.
To model the objects, I looked up some information about the connectors used in computer cases at the time, rediscovering, for example, the DIN connector for the keyboard, as well as the fact that a serial connector was used for the mouse back then. For the keyboard, I modeled one similar to the iconic Model M, although not exactly the same, since the one that came with my PC was most likely not an original IBM keyboard.
I also created a Tutorial in which I show the process I followed to recreate that environment: the 386 computer case, the CRT monitor, and the small desk where I spent many hours playing Prince of Persia (the original by Jordan Mechner) and Commander Keen 1.
